Breaking News - Gist Movie Actor Die a great lost in the industry
The actor Martin Landau, best known for roles in the TV series Mission: Impossible and 1960s blockbusters like Cleopatra, has died, aged 89.
His publicist Dick Guttman confirmed the death, saying: "We are overcome with sadness."
Landau won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar in 1995 for portraying the horror movie star Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood.
He died on Saturday in Los Angeles of "unexpected complications" following a hospital visit.
Landau was born in New York and started out as a cartoonist for the New York Daily News before moving to theatre and then cinema acting.
He featured in the Alfred Hitchcock film North by Northwest and played a commander in Space: 1999 and Geppetto in a live-action version of The Adventures of Pinocchio.
But he turned down the role of Mr Spock in Star Trek, a role that went to his friend Leonard Nimoy instead.
And Nimoy later replaced Landau on Mission: Impossible when the latter left following a dispute over pay.
Many in Hollywood hit social media to pay tribute, including Star Trek actor William Shatner, who played the role of James T. Kirk.

Davido’s signee, Mayorkun has confirmed that his boss didn’t only just brag about having N30bn in his account, saying indeed he has it or even more. In his recent chat with Potpourri on how much the Omo Baba Olowo is really worth, he said;
“First, we are our own artistes; we’re doing our own stuff,” he said, correcting the impression that artistes under DMW have been leveraging on the money and affluence of Davido to promote their respective music careers.
“Talking about the money, no be me sing ‘30billion for the account o’, so everybody knows the person that has the money and they know the people who are just trying to be heard. I’ve money of course, I’m making my own money but you can’t compare my money to Davido’s. Davido actually has as much as 30 billion, if not more than that; David is from a very wealthy family so don’t doubt it; we’re just street boys they’re trying to help”, he said.

Download Free Album Wizkid – Sounds From The Other Side; Nigerian singer/songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (aka Wizkid) began his career in music when he was just 11 years old. His first record, Lil Prinz, was recorded in 2001 in collaboration with Glorious Five, a group consisting of Balogun and his friends from church. In 2006 he started pursuing music full-time, at first collaborating with various Nigerian pop acts including OJB Jezreel, Naeto C, and Banky W.
By 2011 he was ready to record his debut studio album as a solo artist; Superstar was released via Empire Mates Entertainment (EME for short) to great critical and public acclaim across Africa, propelling him to stardom in his home country. After multiple delays and label disagreements, Balogun released his sophomore album, Ayo, in 2014. His second studio album featured a multitude of guest appearances, including a spot from Femi Kuti. It also featured Balogun’s global breakthrough track “Ojuelegba.”
Not only did the single cement his status as one of Nigeria’s biggest pop acts, it was also picked up and remixed by Drake and Skepta, thrusting Wizkid into the international spotlight. In return, Wizkid appeared on Drake’s 2016 smash single “One Dance.” In March 2017, it was announced that Wizkid had signed a major deal with RCA and Sony International, which would release his third LP, Sound from the Other Side, later that year. A handful of singles appeared in advance of the album, including “Sweet Love” and the Drake-assisted “Come Closer
